Welcome to Wynsomwood, a CFA-registered cattery conveniently located in Princeton, New Jersey- less than an hour from New York City and Philadelphia. My name is Elena Wood and I have been enthralled with showing cats ever since setting foot in the “Sign of the Cat Fancier’s” Show Hall in 2007. I was immediately enamored by Diane Deibert’s beautiful cats (Spellbound Exotics), and remember telling her I would give anything to have a cat like hers someday- not too long after, she charitably gave us our very own beautiful and stunning Exotic Short Hair named Willy. I went on to show Willy for a Regional Win in 2009/2010, and had so much fun I never want to stop!
Given my passion for these beautiful and loving animals, I suppose it was inevitable I would someday catch the breeding bug. With the very generous support and mentoring of CFA judge and renowned breeder, Hope Gonano, I plan to start a small breeding program for Himalayans and Color Point Exotics. I will strive to produce only the very best in every sense; health, temperament and adherence to the highest of CFA breed standards.
In addition to our beautiful cats, we have four wonderful children in our home who contribute greatly towards instilling an outgoing, affectionate and winning character that we all desire in our cats. Our cats are extremely well socialized and it shows- they are surrounded by young children on a daily basis, and absolutely love it- they meet every guest at the door and “host” their entire visit. Our breeding program will strive to duplicate this outgoing, charming character in every kitten produced here at Wynsomwood- personality and temperament are equally as important as good looks!
